Comment: I wanted to photograph Kashmir but the political crisis in Kashmir makes it uneasy to access. Photographing Kashmir won't be complete without photographing the Himalayan high altitude lakes. I couldn’t resist the urge and joined a trekking team on a trek in Kashmir. This photograph of Vishnusar lake is proof of how beautiful the place is.
My plan was to scout location and decide on a composition the evening before and photograph it during morning light. But I couldn't find a decent foreground interest and went to bed disappointed. Next morning I gave it a last try and visited the lake again. To my surprise, as soon as the morning light hit the mountains, the reflection added another dimension to the scene. Reflections helped to precisely frame the stones in the lake to add foreground interest. Light changes so quickly, I got two minutes to frame and take the shot.
