Comment:
The picture was taken on the banks of the Volga, near Novocheboksarsk. What kind of mysterious foggy "Jackal Coast"? Where's the place? Whose horns? Why are they dumped in one place and washed with water? Perhaps this is an ancient ritual of noble animals? Or maybe a place of sacrifice? A place where battles take place and generations change? I intentionally do not accompany the shot with a detailed description, leaving the viewer with a mobility of meanings, a space for imagination and feeling for the image. Each viewer can finish the story on their own. The fact is that any visual art aims to show. “It is better to see once than to hear 100 times,” is the saying of popular wisdom. Therefore, I consider it unnecessary to disclose the image literary. Each viewer in his own way can interpret what he sees. As in many of my works, I prefer not to push the viewer to perception, to the disclosure of the plot.
The image was produced by the multiple exposure method, using a tripod and slow shutter speeds of 20 seconds or more. It took about an hour to implement this picture. Many nuances when choosing a support, water movement, changing lighting and ND-filter
